POETRY by DYLAN S LE MAIRE - Pg 18 - THE WORLD IS MINE

"The world is mine," I thought as I started out. Such it is when youth is aroused...and it wasn't long before my almost kid-like strong sense of adventure took hold.

"BOLD," I shall be...and we shall see.

So, against all attempts to quash me, and against all right good sense, there I went...headlong into the future...having NO idea what would happen either next or especially down the path. Might be good, joyful, heavenly...or perhaps I would encounter something akin to the wrath of a God I barely know and certainly don't count as a friend.

I was, as they say and I am wont to do, bouncing along...enjoying the ride...when suddenly, fate intervened...in the form of someone almost as adventurous and comically youthful as I.

Jaff. Sounds like wrath, but certainly didn't act like it. Nuts is more like it. Great good humor, and always itching for "THE ADVENTURE."

So we set out, this Afghan rabble-rouser with impeccable grey cells and a hearty laugh...to see what the world might have to show us.

Ah yes. Jaff Noor. I really must tell you about Jaff. Quite the little story as you shall see. Heehee.

STAY TUNED.

It might turn out to be quite the little ride. OR...perhaps, we shall be handed our comeuppance.

LOL

One never knows when Dustybear takes pen in hand and begins to weave a magical spell or two, literary style.

HE WHO SEEKS...Pg. 17

He walks and drives and flies, like an errant butterfly...and creates imagery in his wake as he moves from Afghanistan to Qatar to Egypt and beyond.

You can't fake his intensity, nor can you deny his propensity for seeking knowledge and experience.

I am growing fond of watching his endless circling of life, as if to say...this is MINE, and it is good.

But, no. He doesn't command but absorbs. Learns and immerses himself. No up on the shelf for this boy.

Joy, he brings as he moves among those he meets. He never cheats with his emotions, an open book for all to see. Warmth in his smile, and totally without guile.

THIS IS Jafar Noor. A son of Afghanistan. A student of the world. An adventurer. A traveler. A brass ring if you will...and I as so many others merely follow to see where he goes and what he does, eyes wide with wonder.

An Ambassador in the making, a world for his taking perhaps...a world view way beyond the confines of his home country. Like a few others I know from Afghanistan, it is these outward-looking Afghans that provide the greatest promise to the future of a country that sorely needs peace.

Everyday, I pray for the release from war a beautiful country and a proud and dynamic people who deserve it.
